PayPal Registration
You will be asked for some basic information:
name, address, telephone number; and your preferred currency.
You will be offered three account options -
personal, business or international
and two type of account - personal and premier.
Choose international if you want to receive payments
from anywhere where buyers can register with PayPal (most countries).
Choose premier if you want people to pay you with credit cards.
Enter details of the bank account to which you want
any withdrawals to be credited. Then enter the details of your credit card, or debit
card, which you would use to add funds to your PayPal account.
More Security
Complete your sign-up with two forms of identification.
1. Type some numbers from the screen into the box. This proves that you are a human being, I guess. 2.
PayPal will send a tiny amount of cash to your bank account. Type in the amount, which will appear on your credit or debit
bank statement.
PayPal Web Site
The PayPal site is user friendly, clear and easy to
understand. There were no advertisements or pop ups! Navigation is simple
and quick and it is easy to find your account details and history. The
login is your e-mail address and whatever password you choose.
A screen shows your account, payments, receipts, history,
pay-out money and requests for money. When someone pays into your PayPal
account, PayPal emails you that these funds have arrived. This also gives
you the registered address of the payer.
Payments are made using the registered e-mail address of
the person to whom you are making the payment. You can have up to eight
different e-mail addresses linked to your account.
Personal and Premier PayPal Accounts
With a personal account, you can send and receive
cash payments. You pay an administration fee for every withdrawal to your
bank account. (If you wait until you have a few payments in your account
and withdraw it all - with only one administration fee!)
- Payments can be converted to your chosen currency
With a premier account, people can pay you with a credit card.
Although the withdrawal fees are the same, there is also a handling fee of
30 cents US plus about 3% of the value of the payment.
- If you withdraw money to a UK bank account the
transaction will take between 5 and 7 working days and will cost £1
- If you withdraw money to a US bank account the
transaction will take between 3 and 4 working days and will be free
- You can use your accumulated funds to buy from a
PayPal shop, freely
This information will appear on your PayPal account page. Your
email address becomes your login, and you choose a password.
